Summarizes Volume II of the 4 volumes of proceedings of the Third Symposium on the Transfer and Utilization of Particulate Control Technology held in Orland, FL., March 9-12, 1981. Vol. II papers deal particularly with electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) as particulate control devices. The papers discuss fundamentals of the design and fabrication of ESPs, additions to the theory and the analysis of the operation of ESPs, the operation and maintenance of ESPs, advanced designs and concepts, and the application of ESPs fired by other than conventional fuels. Volumes I, III, and IV are described in three separate summaries.
