Abstract | The purpose of the present study was to determine the persistence of azinphosmethyl, 0,0-dimethyl S(4-oxo-1,2,3-benzotriazin-3(4H)-ylmethyl) phosphorodithioate, residues in soil following topical applications of the compound. The results are intended to have application not only to the problem of hazard to children, pets and domestic farm animals who may come in contact with contaminated spillage areas, but also to problems related to waste pesticide disposal, leaching, and degradation or disappearance of the compound in the environment.
