Abstract
As a result of a controversy arising over available water supply in the Washington Metropolitan Area, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, administrator for Region III, requested that a cost analysis of the water supply system in the Washington, D.C. area be made. The analysis required a survey of the major water purveyors within the WMA which draw water from the Potomac River or have plans to do so in the near future. The data included in this document provides the basis for an in-depth analysis of the water supply situation within the WMA and represents a new approach in projecting water supply needs through the year 2050.
