Grantee Research Project Results
The Health Effects Institute is a non-profit, independent research organization funded by EPA in partnership with the automotive industry. Launched in 1980, HEI funds, manages, and reviews research on the health impacts of automotive emissions and other air pollution sources. The HEI Strategic Plan for 2020-2025 is organized around the following themes: Accountability, Testing the Links Between Air Quality Action and Health; Complex Questions for the Air Pollution Mixture; Transport and Urban Health; Global Health; and Transparency in Policy-Relevant Science.
The perspectives, information and conclusions conveyed in research project abstracts, progress reports, final reports, journal abstracts and journal publications convey the viewpoints of the principal investigator and may not represent the views and policies of ORD and EPA. Conclusions drawn by the principal investigators have not been reviewed by the Agency.
