Objective:
Conduct cold weather assessments of emergency response portable chemical monitoring equipment used by local fire departments in Chippewa County. These data will be compared to other accident sites and their associated conditions. Parameters recorded will include temperature, location, chemical concentration, and wind speed. A manufacturer and literature review of selected monitors along with a review of chemicals and exposure models will be conducted to further evaluate the monitor’s cold weather capabilities.
