Description:
This proposal covers the development of a hybrid Brayton cycle/ membrane separation system for VOC control. The new system design offers significant capital and operating cost savings compared to current membrane vapor systems and could make membrane technology competitive with alternative processes in the feed flow range up to 2,000 scfm.In the Phase I program, the overall feasibility of the new design will be determined in experiments with a modified membrane system, and a technical and economic analysis of the process will be performed. In the Phase II program, a hybrid system based on the optimum design identified in Phase I will be built and tested in the field.
