Research Category: Watersheds , Endocrine Disruptors , Environmental Engineering , Air Quality and Air Toxics
Objective:
Develop a low-cost, portable instrument to help communities assess their toxic VOCs in real time.
Progress Summary:
Development of the cross-flow ion mobility spectrometer is nearly complete.
Future Activities:
Complete development of the cross-flow ion mobility spectrometer. Add gas chromatography front end and, if necessary, a pre-concentrator. Work with communities to measure toxic VOCs in their air. Investigate the availability of portable GC-MS instruments as an alternative to the GC-CF-IMS instrument under development.
