Objective:
This project will develop and evaluate a pre-commercialization version of a Biowall, which is a botanical air filter that leverages the natural ability of plants to metabolize Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and improve indoor air quality in buildings.Approach:
The project will develop and evaluate a Biowall in a laboratory setting during the first year of the project and then move it to a building for a field demonstration during year two.Expected Results:
The Biowall will be an aesthetically pleasing addition to a building, but will also improve indoor air quality. The device has the potential for saving money and energy by reducing the need for outdoor air ventilation that is costly to heat and cool.Publications and Presentations:
