Description:Nitrogen oxide emissions from combustion processes reaction with hydrocarbons in the atmosphere are precursors to the formation of ozone. To reduce atmospheric ozone, nitrogen oxide emissions are being regulated.
A new method for removing nitrogen oxides from combustion gas streams is proposed. The process system minimizes risks and hazards associated with the transport, storage and use of anhydrous and aqueous ammonia that are currently used for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) systems for NOx control. Laboratory tests for the optimization of the system design and operating parameter are planned and pilot scale tests to demonstrate the operation of the complete system are planned.
