Predictive QSAR Models of Hepatotoxicity
EPA Grant Number: R834999Title: Predictive QSAR Models of Hepatotoxicity
Investigators: Tropsha, Alex
Institution: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
EPA Project Officer: Chung, Serena
Project Period: June 1, 2011 through May 30, 2015
Project Amount: $750,000
RFA: Computational Toxicology: Biologically-Based Multi-Scale Modeling (2010) RFA Text | Recipients Lists
Research Category: Chemical Safety for Sustainability
Description:
This project proposes to: compile and curate a database of information on biological and chemical information related to hepatotoxicity; develop predictive models based on this information; and make freely available both models and data on a web portal. This research will provide the methods and data necessary to understand the inherent attibutes of chemicals that lead to their toxicity. The project can ultimately lead to a better understanding of the results of chemical exposure, thus helping to protect public health.Progress and Final Reports:
The perspectives, information and conclusions conveyed in research project abstracts, progress reports, final reports, journal abstracts and journal publications convey the viewpoints of the principal investigator and may not represent the views and policies of ORD and EPA. Conclusions drawn by the principal investigators have not been reviewed by the Agency.
