Description:
In UV-H2O2 advanced oxidation systems, for wastewater treatment, the cost of purchased hydrogen begins to dominate electric power costs as contaminant concentrations increase. It was successfully demonstrated in Phase I that oxidant could be produced on-line in the presence of the contaminant at a cost less than the purchased price of hydrogen peroxide. The unique method of on-line oxidant production has great potential especially when treating industrial strength aqueous waste. The Phase II effort will explore contaminant streams for which the process is applicable and the limits of its applicability.Supplemental Keywords:
