Abstract

NCEA Self-Study Report to the BOSC Subcommittee for NCEA:

On October 10 and 11, 2001, the National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) hosted at its Washington, DC offices a review and site visit by the Office of Research and Development's (ORD) Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC) Subcommittee for NCEA.

In preparation for the Subcommittee's review, the BOSC requested that each ORD national laboratory and center respond to 18 questions. NCEA developed a response to these questions and submitted the responses to the NCEA-BOSC Subcommittee. NCEA's responses was used to help the Subcommittee to gauge the progress of the Center since its 1997 review and to evaluate science and planning activities that NCEA has developed to address the priorities and directions included in the EPA and ORD Strategic Plans.
