1. PRINCIPAL DEFENDANT: Forrest Sewer Pump Service, Inc.
E.D.  Virginia  2:19CR00118
Forrest Sewer Pump Service, Inc. (FSPS) provided wastewater and grease hauling services for more than 20 years. The company cleaned, pumped, and maintained sewer lines, pump stations, and grease traps for numerous private clients and public institutions throughout the Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, and Norfolk, Virginia, areas. On several instances between 2014 and 2016, FSPS employees discharged pollutants into the publically owned treatment works (at unauthorized discharge points) and in violation of FSPS’ industrial user wastewater discharge permit. The company took advantage of its unfettered access to the undesignated sewer locations to avoid dumping fees. Surveillance cameras operated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Virginia State Police show company employees illegally dumping pollutants on several occasions.
