Step 5: Implement Watershed Plan (cont.)

Develop Work Plans
The next step in the implementation process will be to develop work plans. Your watershed plan will serve as the foundation for preparing the work plans, which will outline the implementation activities in 2- or 3-year time frames (depending on the scope of your project). If you think of your watershed plan as a strategic plan for long-term success, work plans are the specific to-do lists to achieve that vision. Work plans can be useful templates for preparing grant applications to fund implementation activities. Depending on the time frame associated with your funding source, your work plan might need to be prepared annually with quarterly reporting. It is also possible to update work plans and make some changes, within the original scope of the work plan, as needed; although you should not completely change the focus of your work plan after receiving funding.
