WATER, SALT AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Citation:

Lombi, E. AND K G. Scheckel*. WATER, SALT AND CLIMATE CHANGE. Presented at Western Australia Users Workshop, Bentley, AUSTRALIA, May 13 - 14, 2004.

Impact/Purpose:

To inform the public.

Description:

The application of synchrotron based research for understanding the fate of contaminants in water, soil, and atmosphere is proving to be beneficial for scientists and regulators. Drawing the connection of a contaminated site to knowledge of metal speciation provides direct evidence on the bioavailability an toxicity of the pollutant. This presentation will illustrate successful application of synchrotron methods to understand the speciation of several metals in the environment.
