The Oklahoma Mesonet, operated and maintained by the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, is Oklahoma's premier climatological data collection system. The network includes over 116 stations with a maximum distance of approximately 30km between stations. Data from the stations, current weather maps, radar images, agricultural and public safety models, weather trend information, and summaries are available from the OCS' public website (http://www.mesonet.org/public). Background on the genesis of the network and an overview of the current implementation of network is provided, as well as examples of products available from the Oklahoma Climatological Survey.
