WATERSHED CLASSIFICATION: LINKING MONITORING, LISTING, AND DIAGNOSIS

Citation:

Detenbeck, N E. WATERSHED CLASSIFICATION: LINKING MONITORING, LISTING, AND DIAGNOSIS. Presented at 3rd Annual EPA Science Forum, Washington, DC, June 1-3, 2004.

Description:

This describes a watershed classification approach that helps to link activities under CWA sections 305(b) and 303(d), using a case study developed with the state of West Virginia as an example. The watershed classification approach can help Regions, States, and Tribes provide the information needed to calculate probabilities of impairment for unmonitored systems, and design a program to meet the needs of the Clean Waters Act.
