PROVEN ALTERNATIVES FOR ABOVEGROUND TREATMENT OF ARSENIC IN GROUNDWATER

To provide better access to EPA/state regulators and the regulated community to data on the performance and cost of remediation technologies used in the field

Description:

This report was prepared as an issue paper for the EPA Engineering Forum, summarizes experiences with proven aboveground treatment alternatives for arsenic in groundwater, and provides information on their relative performance and cost. The four technologies reviewed are: precipitation/coprecipitation; adsorption; ion exchange; and membrane filtration, which includes reverse osmosis.
