CONTINUATION AND EXPANSION OF DOCKWATCH VOLUNTEER REPORTING SYSTEMS FOR NUISANCE AND INVASIVE JELLYFISH
Impact/Purpose:
The activity will collect accurate data on Jellyfish that will help researchers, NEPS, and Federal and state agency coastal managers to predict jellyfish blooms and trends, as well as the impacts associated with these blooms and trends.
Description:
Gather data, using a citizens' monitoring network to track jellyfish occurrence in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The dtat will be incorporated into the database that will establish better linkages between jellyfish, transport and bloom cycles. The project will also be used improve upon the current citizens monitoring network and its operation.
