Brewer 103 is located in Boston MA, measuring ultraviolet solar radiation. Irradiance and column ozone are derived from this data. Ultraviolet solar radiation is measured with a Brewer Mark IV, single-monochrometer, spectrophotometer manufactured by SCI-TEC Instruments, Inc. of Saskatoon, SK, Canada. The UV monitoring under EPA's UV-Net program is coordinated with measurement programs of other U.S. Federal agencies through the U.S. Global Change Research Program. From 1994 to August 1998, the Brewer was located on the roof of the School of Public Health Building at Harvard University. During early 1999, the site is being re-located in Boston to a location operated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
