Residual Risk Assessments
Impact/Purpose:
To assess the health risks imposed by sources of air toxics emissions, on a source category basis, to determine if control technology standards previously established for that source category are adequately protecting public health.
Description:
Each source category previously subjected to a technology-based standard will be examined annually to determine if health or ecological risks are significant enough to warrant further regulation. These assesments utilize existing models and data bases to examine the multi-media and multi-pollutant impacts of air toxics emissions on human health and the environment.
