CHIEF PEDIATRIC RESIDENTS TRAINING - A TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS
Impact/Purpose:
To heighten the awareness of pediatric environmental health issues in residency training programs and to augment pediatric environmental health educational activities in residency programs.
Description:
The American Academy of Pediatrics will convene workshops at four meetings of the Pediatric Academic Societies for incoming pediatric chief residents. The residents receive an overview of childen's environmental health issues, will create a powerpoint presentation on a specific issue with a small group and will present that presentation to the entire group. The completed presentations will be sent to all participants so that they can incorporate the presenations into educational activities in residency programs. Evaluations will be conducted six months after each workshop.
