Impact/Purpose:
EPIC (Environmental Protection and Information Center ) will provide an environmental analysis and information center to serve the Alabama coastal community and the regional community of the Gulf of Mexico as a member of the Gulf of Mexico Program's Virtual GIS Office. This center employs state-of-the art GIS technology to help environmental managers use locational data to be more effective in making decisions concerning their activities in the Gulf coast region and the watersheds in that region
Description:
This project provides an essential environmental analysis center to serve the Alabama coastal community and the regional community of the Gulf of Mexico as a member of the Gulf of Mexico Program's Virtual GIS team. The center provides GIS and information products that address environmental issues in Alabama and the northern Gulf of Mexico. These products help local and state agencies understand the issues and improves their ability to make better decisions and take more effective action in response to these issues.
