STATISTICS AND DATA ANALYSIS WORKSHOP

Impact/Purpose:

The workshop was designed for Region 5 Tribal representatives. It covered topics ranging from basic water resource investigations to the use of statistics in data investigation and reporting. A total of 34 Tribal water resource staff attended, representing 21 Tribes and the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan. EPA staff also attended, to learn more about environmental statistics, and to meet with the Tribal staff in attendance.

Description:

On Janauary 15 and 16, 2003, a workshop for Tribal water resources staff on Statistics and Data Analysis was held at the Indian Springs Lodge on the Forest County Potowatomi Reservation near Wabeno, WI. The workshop was co-sponsored by the EPA, Sokaogon Chippewa (Mole Lake) Community and the Forest County Potawatomi Community. The Tribes will use this information to design better monitoring systems.
