Impact/Purpose:

This project is intended to identify the potential for an emerging energy technology to address both the major environmental concerns with large scale animal feeding operations as well as the need for clean, renewable energy at rural locations first in Colorado and subsequently nationwide.

Description:

This project is an effort to evaluate animal feeding operation and confined animal feeding operation sites for energy-production on a state-wide level. The project will determine the potential energy and environmental benefits of methane utilization in hydrogen fuel cells in the dairy sector.
