Citation:

Lewis*, R F. BIOREMEDIATION. Chapter 14, Luanne Kemp Williams, and Ricky L. Langley (ed.), Environmental Health Secrets. Hanley & Belfus, Inc., Philadelphia, PA, , 79-84, (2000).

Description:

Bioremediation is a method for using the activities of microorganisms and-or plants to transform organic or inorganic compounds that may be harmful to humans, animals, plants or the environment to compounds that are less harmful. In many instances the toxic compounds may be completely degraded to the simple inorganic components of that compound such as carbon dioxide, nitrate, chloride ions. This is termed mineralization.
