Description:
It is often necessary to collect core samples that do not fit the normal sampling protocol. This Field Innovation Forum submission describes new methodology that enables researchers to collect soil samples in situations where the normal vertical sampling techniques will deliver unacceptable results. It describes the method used, and the way the direct push technology was adapted so the desired samples could be collected. It also explains why a new methodology was necessary and shows the results of these efforts.
