Description:

Lake water quality in five marinas on Lake Texoma was determined over a two year period. Quality parameters were methyl tert-butyl ether, nitrate, some metals, fecal coliform and algae. Common blue-green algae can produce a toxin harmful to other aquatic organisms and humans. A measure of chlorophyll-a was used to estimate algal concentrations. Algae were present in all water samples collected over the yearly seasons as determined by chlorophyll-a concentrations from 5 to 59 mg/L with the maximum during the fall season.
