Description:
During a recent compilation of a Great Lakes diatom species checklist several new nomenclatural combinations, which to our knowledge have not yet been made in the literature, came to our attention. In order to more closely align literature on Great Lakes diatoms with current taxonomic understanding and practice, we propose the following new combinations.
