Description:
EMAP-West has begun a series of Communications designed to keep environmental managers in state, tribal and federal government as well as other interested publics up-to-date on Program activities. This second issue describes why a selected set of indicators is important for any program designed to assess the condition of an environmental resource; e.g. an environmental report card. The attributes of an acceptable indicator using the EMAP approach are described. The core indicators used in EMAP-West (and other EMAP programs) are listed and a description of how they are applied is provided.
