Description:
These two national conferences, held in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1994 and 1999, addressed the area of environmental problem solving with Geographic Information Systems. This CD-ROM is a compilation of the proceedings in PDF format. The emphasis of the conference presentations were on formulating the appropriate questions, addressing the information available to answer that question, and the outcomes of the solution of the problem, depending on the quality and availability of that data. There were over 100 papers presented at the two conferences.
The conferences were sponsored by the USEPA, with cooperation from groups within EPA and the Professional Sector. The objective of the conferences was to bring together individuals with broad-spectrum experience in solving environmental problems, to share their knowledge and facilitate greater expertise in dealing with cross-media pollutant transport and watershed-based decision-making. The proceedings of these two conferences have been combined to create a single CD-ROM.
