GEOLOGIC CARBON STORAGE: UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF THE UNDERGROUND

Citation:

Wilson*, E J. AND D. W. Keith. GEOLOGIC CARBON STORAGE: UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF THE UNDERGROUND. Presented at 6th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies, Kyoto, Japan, 9/30-10/4/02.

Description:

The paper discusses the geologic sequestration (GS) of carbon dioxide (CO2), an emerging option for carbon management. Few studies have explored the regulatory needs of GS or compared these needs with regulations governing underground injection on the U.S. mainland. Our treatment is selective, focusing on the technical and regulatory aspects that are most likely to be important for GS.
