Citation:

Kosusko*, M AND C. H. Archibald. THE COATINGS GUIDE: AN ONLINE INFORMATION RESOURCE. Presented at AWMA Annual Meeting, Orlando, Florida, 6/24-28/01.

Description:

The paper discusses the Coatings Guide, a free online information training resource that focuses on alternative low-emission coatings for metal and plastic substrates. Developed cooperatively by the U.S. EPA's Office of Research and Development and Research Triangle Institute, its purposes are to provide unbiased information about coating technologies, focus attention on low-emission coatings, and help businesses deal with the cost considerations of switching to a new coating system. Many technical assistance providers have used the Coatings Guide as a training tool. It is designed to be a one-stop shop for environmentally friendly coatings information on the Internett and provides several helpful tools for small businesses, including an Expert System, a Coating Alternatives Information feature, a Cost Tool, a Source Category References component, and a Product Guide.
