Description:

There is a growing awareness that a single-issue approach to an environmental problem may not lead to an efective long-term strategy. Instead, governments and industries around the world are seeing the value and need to look at the entire life cycle of products and processes from cradle to grave. The USEPA has had an active LCA research program since 1990. Current research efforts are focusing on life cycle inventory accessibility and improved impact modeling. These activities are discussed in later sections.
