Description:
There has been recent concern for the potential effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on reproduction and development of humans and wildlife species. The U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has identified EDC issues as one of six high priority research areas. Further, in response to legislation passed by the U.S. Congress, EPA is implementing a screening program for EDC s with specific mechanisms/modes of action (MOA). . . .The purpose of this document is to describe an EDC test method with the fathead minnow designed to meet the requirements of U.S. EPA within the time frame of screening implementation.
