GHG MITIGATION TECHNOLOGY PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS UNDERWAY AT THE GHG TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION CENTER

Citation:

Piccot, S. AND D A. Kirchgessner*. GHG MITIGATION TECHNOLOGY PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS UNDERWAY AT THE GHG TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION CENTER. Presented at 2nd International Symposium on Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases, Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands, 9/8-10/99.

Description:

The paper outlines the verification approach and activities of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Technology Verification Center, one of 12 independent verification entities operating under the U.S. EPA-sponsored Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) program. (NOTE: The ETV program tries to accelerate the acceptance and use of improved technologies through the development of third-party technology performance data. The Center focuses on GHG mitigation and monitoring technologies and has completed performance verification testing on two technologies and initiated testing on five others. Technologies applicable to the natural gas industry, electricity generation industry, and GHG monitoring industry have been the primary focus of the Center's initial efforts). The paper presents final results on two technologies for which testing was recently completed, and preliminary results on two additional technologies for which the first phase of a two-phase verification test has been completed.
