Citation:

Anon. USER'S GUIDE FOR THE MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LIFE-CYCLE DATABASE. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, EPA/600/R-03/067, 2003.

Description:

The report describes how to use the municipal solid waste (MSW) life cycle database, a software application with Microsoft Access interfaces, that provides environmental data for energy production, materials production, and MSW management activities and equipment. The basic database functions of searching, viewing, and printing data sets, as well as information about data sources and data quality, are presented. The database was developed to provide life-cycle inventory type information for processes related to MSW management systems. Public and private data from MSW and life-cycle studies and from other relevant sources were collected and reviewed against the data quality goals and data quality indicators established for the project. Every source of data in the database was issued a Data Quality Indicator (DQI) to measure the quality of the data source. The MSW Life Cycle Database stores information for various activities related to MSW management. The user begins the process of searching for data by making technology and other parameter choices in the MSW Life Cycle Database in Microsoft Access. Data related to these choices are then displayed and may be printed.
