Description:
The Ecological Soil Screening Level (Eco-SSL) work group, composed of scientists and risk assessors from EPA, Environment Canada, DOE, Army, Navy, Air Force, states, industry, academia, and consulting companies, has developed scientifically sound, ecologically-based, soil screening levels. EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response in collaboration with EPA's Office of Research and Development are releasing the Eco-SSL values derived for 23 contaminants of concern and four receptors (terrestrial plants, soil invertebrates, and avian and mammalian wildlife) through EPA's public website. - - - The website includes links to all standard operating procedures and guidance documents used in the derivation of the Eco-SSL values. Procedures for submitting new data and modifying current information are also included on the website. This abstract does not necessarily reflect EPA policy.
