Description:

Response to vaccination may be a sensitive indicator of immunollogic health in young children. Toddlers residing in an intenseive agricultural area along the US/Mexican border were enrolled in a pilot study investigating immunologic function and pesticide exposure by multiple routes.
Twenty eligible children, aged 11-18 months, were recruited at local clinics, and were due to receive their first measles-mumps-rubella vaccine. Care givers were interviewed at enrollment, and again about four weeks later, about the child's history and reported exposure to pesticides.
