Description:

There is a growing awareness of the need to control waterborne microbial pathogens. This presentation will concentate on the role of chemical inactivation, using chlorine, chloramines and ozone as a means of controlling bacterial and protozoan species. Information will be presented on Contaminant Candidate List organisms including Aeromonas spp., Helicobacter pylori, and spores of Microsporidia. Inactivation data for other pathogens, such as Escherichia coli O157, Giardia and Cryptosporidium will also be presented.
