Citation:

Batterman, A R. QA RESOURCE MATERIALS TO ASSIST IN DEVELOPING AND WRITING RESEARCH PLANS AT A USEPA OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DIVISION. Presented at 19th Annual National Conference on Managing Quality Systems for an Environmental Program, Albuquerque, NM, April 3-7, 2000.

Description:

In the process of adapting the Agency's Data Quality Objectives Workshop for presentation at an ORD Research Facility, ownership and consensus approval of the presentation by the Division's research staff was sought. Three groups of researchers, at various levels of responsibility, were asked to serve as editors and reviewers. These groups included (1) the members of the Quality Assurance Committee (five bench level research staff), Quality of Science Committee (seven principal investigators), and Research Integration Committee (seven Team Leaders and three Branch Chiefs as well as the Director, Associate Director of Program Operations and Associate Director of Science). During the process of approving the MED DQO Course and related new Guidelines for the Preparation of MED Research Plans, it was discovered that other informational sessions, resource materials, and statistics training were needed. The entire process of developing the final program and getting consensus will be explained, and examples of the developed materials will be shared with those attending the conference.
