Citation:

Shevade, S., R Ford*, AND R W. Puls*. MERCURY SEPARATION FROM POLLUTANT WATER USING ZEOLITES. Presented at ACS Environmental Chemistry Div. Symposia, Orlando, FL, 04/07-11/2002.

Description:

Arsenic is known to be a hazardous contaminant in drinking water that causes arsenical dermatitis and skin cancer. In the present work, the potential use of a variety of synthetic zeolites for removal of arsenic from water has been examined at room temperature. Experiments have been conducted to examine the extent of arsenic removal as a function of pH. The main objective of this research is to identify the most effective zeolite that remains active over a wide range of pH and achieve arsenic removal in a very short time with high efficiency.
