BENTHIC MACROFAUNA-HABITAT RELATIONSHIPS IN TWO PACIFIC NORTHWEST ESTUARIES

Citation:

Ferraro, S P. AND F A. Cole. BENTHIC MACROFAUNA-HABITAT RELATIONSHIPS IN TWO PACIFIC NORTHWEST ESTUARIES. Presented at 2001 Estuarine Research Federation meeting, St. Petersburg Beach, FL, November 4-8, 2001.

Description:

Habitat-based ecological risk assessments rely, in part, on estimates of the ecological value of the habitats at risk. As part of a larger programmatic effort to estimate estuarine habitat values, we determined benthic macrofauna-habitat relationships for 8 intertidal habitats in Pacific Northwest estuaries [(1) eelgrasses, Zostera marina, and (2) Z. japonica, (3) Atlantic cordgrass, Spartina alterniflora, (4) mud shrimp, Upogebia pugettensis, (5) ghost shrimp,
