LIGHTNING CREEK, PACK RIVER, AND SAND CREEK, BONNER COUNTY, IDAHO - WATER QUALITY SUMMARY, 1978

Description:

In Water Year 1978, water quality studies were conducted on Lightning Creek, Pack River, and Sand Creek in Bonner County, Idaho (17010214, 17010213) to determine the present status of the streams. Water quality in Lightning Creek was generally very high. No violations of standards were observed during 1978. Pack River had a few minor violations of the 90% saturation standard for dissolved oxygen, and water temperature during August exceeded 19C, the upper criteria for a salmonid or trout fishery. No significant differences in water quality were noted between the upper and lower stations on the river. Sand Creek is intermittent and flowed from mid-December 1977 through mid-April 1978. When the stream was flowing, the water quality was very good with no violations of the standards or recommended criteria. 1980. Water Quality Summary No. 20.
