WATER QUALITY CONTROL STUDY, MIDDLE SNAKE RIVER WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT

Description:

On February 5, 1964, the Federal Power Commission issued a license to Pacific Northwest Power Company for construction and operation of its proposed High Mountain Sheep Project on the Snake River (170602, 170501). This investigation by the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration was undertaken in response to the Secretary of Interiors request to explore all aspects of water quality associated with a reservoir development on middle Snake, and to advise the Bureau of Reclamation on those aspects needing consideration in formulating development plans. This report focusses on downstream water quality control needs, principally temperature, associated with anadromous fish production. Available data on water uses, waste source, and water quality in the study area were examined, evaluated, and projected to provide a base for this water quality analysis. February 1968.
