MICROBIAL DEGRADATION OF PROPANIL IN AQUATIC SYSTEMS

Citation:

Steen, W., G. Vasilyeva, AND N. Anan'eva. MICROBIAL DEGRADATION OF PROPANIL IN AQUATIC SYSTEMS. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/J-86/199 (NTIS PB87152575), 1986.

Description:

Second-order microbial degradation rate constants were developed for the herbicide propanil in lake and water samples from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Variations in calculated second-order rate constants were attributed to differences in bacterial counting methods used. Rate constants determined for propanil transformation in waters investigated in the USSR were similar to those estimated for natural water systems throughout the United States.
