Grace, K. INTERIM PROTOCOL FOR TESTING THE EFFECTS OF MICROBIAL PATHOGENS ON SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES (ISOPTERA: RHINOTERMITIDAE). U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/R-92/215 (NTIS PB93124634).

Description:

Although subterranean termites are frequent targets of pest control measures around buildings and other human constructions, they are also ubiquitous in both wooded and desert regions of North America and are likely to suffer unintended exposure to MPCA's. here are few reports of pathogens isolated from termites, and little information available on the toxicity of MPCA's. his report describes test procedures generally suitable for evaluation of MPCA's based upon pathogenic fungi and other pathogens where mortality may reasonably be expected to occur within a 15-day period. f a longer pattern of mortality is anticipated, then the test period may need to be exteneded.
