Description:

A data base of existing metal corrosion data has been compiled by the National Bureau of Standards. The data base contains only exposure studies that were conducted according to standard ASTM procedures and had adequate documentation of the site characteristics and period of exposure. The report presents work conducted at Washington University to examine the exposure data for evidence of key features which may clarify the likely importance of man-made pollutants on the corrosion of metals.
