Description:

A cancer dose-response assessment is developed for PCBS, considering toxicity, disposition, and environmental processes to evaluate human cancer risk. ow-dose linear models are applied to animal cancer studies of commercial mixtures to develop a range of potency estimates, then information on environmental processes is used to choose appropriate values for representative classes of environmental mixtures. uidance is given on applying the assessment to environmental mixtures, different exposure routes, partial lifetime exposure, and mixtures containing dioxin-like compounds. ey to these applications are processes that change PCB mixtures after release into the environment: artitioning, chemical transformation, and preferential bioaccumulation.
