Description:

The focus of this report is to summarize the development and status of the fish acute toxicity syndrome (FATS) research effort. hus far, FATS associated with nonpolar narcotics, oxidative phosphorylation uncouplers, respiratory membrane irritants, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors, cyclodiene insecticides, pyrethroid insecticides, and strychnine have been described (McKim et al., 1987b,c; Bradbury et al., 1989, 1990).
